Moore, grandniece of Wirt Mann who appears
in the following photos. His resumé showed that he was
teaching in Kerrville about 1880.
The photos have the notation "1880 Kerrville" on the back and are from
Doris' grandmother's collection
of family history. Wirt Mann had an impressive career as shown by
exerpts from his resumé:
"As principal, taught High School and Preparatory studies, and also Double Entry Book-keeping, Public and Private High School, Kerrville, Texas, salary $1200 per annum;......Graduated in Law Department of University of Texas with degree of Bachelor of Laws, June 1891; Examined by the Justices of The Supreme Court of Texas, June 1891, and Licensed to Practice Law in all State and Federal Courts;.......1902-1911, engaged in private business, farming and stock raising, and Life Insurance Agency business; Nov. 1st, 1911 to Nov 1st 1913 inclusive, engaged in Special work for U.S.Department of Agriculture in Dallas County, Texas, handling Farmer's Cooperative Demonstration work, salary $1600 and $1500 per annum;.....since January 2nd, 1918, employed as deputy Collector, Internal Revenue Service, in charge of Income Tax Service for the City of Galveston, Texas....."
