Kerr County Obituaries

Need an Obituary from the past for your genealogy research?   The Kerr Regional History Center and Archives has a collection of obituary records compiled by Gloria Dozier of the Kerrville Genealogical Society.   In addition to those obituary records, there are microfilms of early Kerr County newspapers.   The obituaries in these newspapers have been indexed by Mrs. Dozier.

Contact the Kerr Regional History Center & Archives at 425 Water Street in Kerrville or write to them at their mailing address: 505 Water Street, Kerrville, Texas 78028.   Be sure to give the full name of the deceased and the date (or approximate date) of death.   Enclose your name and contact information (phone number, e-mail address or snail mail address).

You may also call the History Center during its hours of operation at
(830) 257 8817.   The hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 AM
to 4 PM
when volunteers from the Kerrville Genealogical Society are there to help those who are doing family history research.   Leave your name and phone number along with the name you seek in the obituary records.

A Volunteer will do a search to see if there is an obituary for that name.  Researchers will then get a call-back, e-mail or mailing from the staff of the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library to report on the charges for copying and mailing the obituary.
